Nominations are now open for the 2027 Tinniswood Award for original audio drama scripts broadcast (or made available online) between 1 October 2025 and 31 October 2026.
Established by WGGB and the Society of Authors in memory of the writer Peter Tinniswood (pictured left), the award celebrates the very best in audio drama writing.
The £3,000 cash prize, sponsored by the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, will be presented at the BBC Audio Drama Awards in early 2027.
The deadline for nominations is 11.59pm, 2 October 2026. Submissions will be accepted from any party (producer, broadcasting organisation, writer, agent etc).
Eligibility criteria
Any audio drama script of any length first broadcast or made available online within the UK by a UK-based producer during the period 1 October 2025 and 31 October 2026. The work must be an original piece for audio as broadcast or made available online and may comprise either a single play or the first episode of an original series or serial and, if necessary, any consecutive episode/s. An adaptation for radio of any pre-existing source material (eg stage, television, film, novel, poem or a short story) will not be eligible.
