WGGB stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, including the writers and creatives who are affected by the conflict. We held a special event on Monday 4 April 2022 in London to raise money for creatives living and working in the region

In 2015 President Volodymyr Zelenskyy voiced Paddington bear in the Ukrainian version of the film.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, including the writers and other creatives who are being affected by the conflict, and held an intimate fundraiser screening of Paddington to support creatives living and working in Ukraine on 4 April 2022.

The screening took place at at the Cinema Museum in London and raised £2,000 for the International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk’s Emergency Fund for Filmmakers, a fund for film practitioners directly in danger due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

It was hosted by WGGB and supported by STUDIOCANAL, Heyday Films, the Cinema Museum and Paul King (writer and director of Paddington and Paddington 2), who introduced the film.

The screening was in Ukrainian with English subtitles, and was a chance for us to come together and support our fellow creatives in need.
