What you can do
Help write the next chapter of our history and build an even stronger union – one that negotiates and campaign on behalf of writers, gets the best deals and protects their rights and livelihoods in the digital age
JOIN US
If you are a writer in TV, film, theatre, radio, books, comedy, animation or videogames, then WGGB is your union – whether you have professional writing credits or are just starting out. By joining us you will increase our strength and influence and become part of a campaigning union working hard for writers. Join online (membership starts from just £9 per month).
RECRUIT ANOTHER WRITER
If you are already a member or have just joined please help us spread the word. If every member recruits another writer that means we will double our strength! You can send them a link to our application form or shout loudly about us on social media using the hashtag #wggb60
COME TO THE PARTY
We will be holding special events throughout our anniversary year. We’re a friendly bunch so come along to meet us, celebrate with us, and find out more about the work we are doing for writers. It’s also a great chance to network and meet other writers. Details will be announced in our weekly ebulletin for members, on our website and on Twitter and Facebook.
GET ACTIVE!
Have you thought about joining one of our craft or regional committees or our democratically elected governing body, our Executive Council? Volunteer members play a leading role in their union – setting policy, running events and campaigns and getting involved in negotiations. It doesn’t have to be a big commitment of time and you will meet many other fellow writers along the way. To find out how you can get involved email kate@writersguild.org.uk
