- The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees and elected officials of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (WGGB), their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize draw.
- For New members upon successfully joining the WGGB and completing the entry form you will be automatically entered into the prize draw.
- For existing members, the prize draw is free and no purchase is necessary
- All entries must be submitted via this form OR by post to WGGB, 1st Floor, 134 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2TU and only one entry per person for New Members is permitted. Existing Members may have multiple competition entries, one for each referral.
- The opening date for entries is 09:00 on 12th February 2024. The closing date of the prize draw is 11:59 on 29th February 2024. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.
- If for any reason a technical interruption, fault or site failure occurs when purchasing online, the WGGB does not take any responsibility for incomplete purchases and any incomplete purchases will not be considered valid for entry into the prize draw. The WGGB accepts no responsibility for any purchases which are not completed for any reason.
- The winners will be chosen by random draw on 4th March 2024 (“Draw Date”).
- The first winner will be the first name drawn and will be able to choose a prize from the following: a Doctor Who script signed by Russell T Davies, a copy of ‘Red Pitch’ signed by Tyrell Williams, a signed anthology by Roy Williams, a Saltburn poster signed by Emerald Fennell, a copy of Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook 2024, a copy of Children’s Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook 2024. The second and each subsequent winner will be able to choose a prize from the remaining prizes, until there are not prizes left.
- The winners will be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) before 8th March 2024 and must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the WGGB within 7 days of being notified by the WGGB, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and the WGGB will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
- The prize will be sent to the winners by post within 7 days of being notified of their win.
- The prizes for the winners are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
- The WGGB reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the WGGB’s control makes it necessary to do so.
- The decision of the WGGB regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
- The WGGB must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the WGGB will send the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails admin@writersguild.org.uk or writes to WGGB, 1st Floor, 134 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2TU (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date stated in condition 5. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the WGGB in writing to admin@writersguild.org.uk or WGGB, 1st Floor, 134 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2TU. In such circumstances, the WGGB must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
- Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The WGGB reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
- The WGGB reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Insofar as is permitted by law, the WGGB, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winners or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the WGGB, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the WGGB’s Privacy Statement. See also condition 14 with regard to the announcement of winners.
- These terms and conditions and this promotion are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
