Following further negotiations with the BBC, we have secured an additional 2.5% rise in minimum fees for audio drama writers, on top of the 1.5% rise we negotiated at the beginning of this year.

WGGB General Secretary Ellie Peers said: “Audio drama is a unique and beloved medium which all starts with the writer and their script, so I am delighted that we have negotiated this above-inflation rise in minimum fees for our members who work in this area.

“Our agreement with the BBC covers long-time favourites like The Archers alongside podcast and broadcast original drama, short stories and abridgements – reflecting the vibrant and ever-changing nature of this medium and the talents of the writers who work within it.”
