About our agreements

WGGB ‘minimum terms agreements’ cover writers’ rates and rights in TV, theatre, audio and some areas of film. These are the minimum terms writers are entitled to – but you or your agent can negotiate more.

Below you will find our agreements and rate cards grouped by craft area (in alphabetical order).

If you want to check up-to-date rates please check the rates cards, not the agreements. Rates in the agreements were correct at the time of sign-off and may not reflect current minimum fees.

How to access our rate cards, agreements and guidelines

If you have any access requirements and need any of our documents on this page provided in alternative formats please email admin@writersguild.org.uk or call on 020 7833 0777.

Where we don’t have an agreement in place, we produce best-practice guidelines – for example in videogames, animation and comics.  These include recommended rates and rights that we believe you are entitled to. You can find these best practice guidelines – and other resources – below, grouped by craft area (A-Z).

WGGB members are entitled to free support and advice from our casework team. Email casework@writersguild.org.uk. To access our free contract vetting service, visit our Members’ area. To become a member, join here.

Have you experienced good practice, bad practice, discriminatory practice, bullying or harassment as a writer for TV, film, theatre, radio, in publishing, comedy, animation or videogames?

Then we want to hear about your experiences, so we can build a comprehensive picture of contemporary practice, to help us in our vital work on behalf of writers.

We have put together a short survey which will only take a few minutes of your time.  All writers, whether WGGB members or not, can fill it in. Just follow the link here

If you need immediate support though please ring the WGGB office on 020 7833 0777 or email admin@writersguild.org.uk
