Genevieve Sylvester

Region: London (Greater London)

About / Bio

Named after Saint Geneviève, the Patron Saint of Paris, Geneviève began writing stories at the age of five. At fifteen, she entered college intending to become a doctor, but it quickly became clear that her imagination had other plans. Unable to remain grounded in lectures, she found herself drifting into richly imagined worlds, filling notebooks with characters and stories she was determined to one day share.

Despite her youth—and initial resistance from others—Geneviève ultimately chose to pursue writing full time, building a career that spans both literature and screen. She began in the film and television industry as a script reader, where she developed a sharp understanding of story, structure, and the architecture of compelling narratives while forming lasting industry relationships. That foundation continues to inform her work across mediums.

At the heart of her career is her work as a novelist. An international bestselling author, Geneviève writes romance, thrillers and dramatic fiction, known for emotionally resonant storytelling, layered characters, and a strong sense of place. Her novels reflect a deep commitment to craft and a desire to explore themes of faith, love, resilience, and transformation.

Alongside her literary work, Geneviève is an accomplished screenwriter. Her first spec script sold for a substantial sum, marking her arrival as a writer with both artistic authority and commercial appeal. She has since written multiple feature-length screenplays and developed original television series, bringing a cinematic sensibility and narrative precision to all her storytelling.

Committed to the continual refinement of her craft, Geneviève previously studied creative writing at the University of Oxford and is now continuing her advanced studies at the University of Cambridge, further grounding her work in literary rigor and artistic depth.

Outside of her writing, Geneviève and her husband are committed environmentalists, integrating sustainable living and socially conscious practices into both their personal lives and business ventures. They are actively engaged in supporting charitable initiatives focused on combating hunger and homelessness around the world. Although based primarily in London, they also divide their time between the United States and the South of France.
