**Registrations have now closed for both our LGBT+ History Month eventsĀ **

We are running two special free online events during February. First up is The telling of LGBT+ history in fiction on Thursday 8 February (5-6pm on Zoom). BAFTA-winning trans queer writer and chair of our TV committee Sukey Venables-FisherĀ will be talking withĀ playwright and academicĀ DrĀ Stephen M HornbyĀ about the depiction of LGBT+ history on screen, stage, audio and page. How should writers approach their subject matter via historical and documentary sources? Which works have best recreated and represented the historical experience of different groups within the LGBT+ community? And how can we ensure these voices of history are heard?

Live captions will be available throughout. If you have access requirements, please let us know in advance of the event.

Then on Wednesday 21 February (5-6pm on Zoom), we have the next meeting of our LGBT+ Member Network. The meeting will provide a safe space for LGBT+ members to come together, share experiences and discuss issues relating to writing and the creative industries. It will also be used to inform the ongoing work of the Equality & Diversity Committee. The network meeting is not a formal committee or subcommittee and so there will not be any notes or recordings from the meeting. Live captions will be available throughout. Ā If you have any access requirements, please let us know in advance of the event.
