ITV-Sky deal – our response

Following Sky’s announcement of its long-awaited £1.6bn deal to buy ITV’s broadcasting and streaming arm, WGGB Television Chair Lisa Holdsworth said:

“This is another big development in our rapidly changing industry. We understand the unease it may cause as we wait for the fine detail of the deal to emerge. Our members can be assured that the WGGB will be watching for those details as it goes through regulatory approval. Our priority will be to protect the rates and rights of writers working for the newly-merged broadcaster whilst assessing the impact on our existing agreements with ITV.  We will be doing everything we can to keep members informed.”
