Writers – have you been asked to work for free?

Then join our call for evidence on the type and amount of free work that has been requested of you over the past 12 months.

The call for evidence also includes work requested beyond the scope of your contract for no additional payment.

All writers are eligible to take part – WGGB members and non-members alike. And we’re keen to hear from writers in all the craft areas we represent – TV, film, theatre, audio, books, comedy, animation and videogames.

The call to evidence will only take a few minutes of your time. It will help us identify the scale of the problem, particular ‘hot spots’ and plan how we can tackle it.

All responses will be anonymised and you can find out more and submit your evidence here.

We are keen for as many writers to take part so as well as submitting your evidence, please share with your writer colleagues and friends, using the hashtag #FreeIsNotAnOption and tagging us so we can share too.
