WGGB has negotiated a 2% increase in BBC radio drama minimum rates for non-established writers, and 1% for established writers.
The changes take effect from 1 November 2016.
For an established writer, this brings the headline rate to £95.46 per minute for two transmissions, or £4,295.70 for a 45-minute play.
The new rate for an episode of The Archers will be £957 and the attendance allowance increases to £68 per day. There are also increases in the rates for short stories, features and talks.
The new rates were negotiated in co-operation with the Society of Authors and the Personal Managers’ Association, representing writers’ agents. View the rates on the WGGB website.
Ellie Peers, WGGB Acting General Secretary, said: “In the current climate of budget freezes in radio drama, we have negotiated a 1% increase on minimum fees for established writers and 2% increase for non-established writers contracted under the Radio Drama Agreement.”
