WGGB’s theatre negotiators have agreed a 3.25% rise on minimum fees under the union’s TNC agreement (covering the Royal Court, National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company).

The rise is backdated to 1 April 2025 and means the minimum rate for a full-length play rises from £14,615 to £15,090 (except for the Royal Court Upstairs, which rises from £11,439 to £11,811).

WGGB General Secretary Ellie Peers said: “I am delighted that WGGB negotiators have secured this increase for writers. Our agreements in theatre mean that playwrights working for these three major theatres – as well as those working under our ITC and UK Theatre agreements – benefit from regular rises on their minimum fees, and many other protections too.”
