WGGB has secured a 2% increase in minimum BBC rates for radio, effective from 28 August 2018. The new rates can be found in the rates and agreements section. From 1 November 2018 there will be a further uplift of 2%. The public service use fee will increase with immediate effect from 12.5% to 15% of one transmission fee.

In addition, we have just finalised new podcast arrangements with the BBC, the terms of which will be incorporated into our Radio Drama Agreement (RDA).

Effective from 28 August 2018, for an established writer the agreement for minimum rates for podcast slots are as follows:

Category 1 (1-6 mins): £300
Category 2 (7 – 9 mins): £550
Category 3 (10 -19 mins): £1,000
Category 4 (20 – 29 mins): £1,500
Category 5 (30 – 40 mins): £2,200

The agreement also includes a licensing period of five years, provision for transfer to broadcast radio, commercial exploitation rights and a commitment to the regular review of these terms. The full agreement and further details will be published on our website in the next month.
