Danusia Samal is an actress, writer and jazz singer. In 2018 she wrote and performed Busking It, a gig-theatre show inspired by her experiences as a London Underground busker. Her second play Out of Sorts, exploring a woman’s struggle with dual identity, won the Theatre503 International Playwriting Award and was shortlisted for the George Devine Award. In 2020, Danusia launched the Virtual Collaborators network to provide support and collaboration for artists in lockdown, culminating in a virtual and outdoor festival. Danusia is an alumnus of the BBC TV Drama Writer’s Programme.
