Brian Lally is an Irish writer based in Dublin. He is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and writer of short stories and novels. His films have been released in cinemas in Ireland and broadcast on television by RTE and Film Four.

His films have won several awards and have played in major film festivals such as Galway Film Fleadh, Cork Film Festival, Edinburgh Film Festival, Docs Ireland (Belfast), Britspotting (British Council), and Boston Underground Film Festival.

His main genres for screenplays are suspense thrillers, crime thrillers, documentaries, horror, and comedy.

For prose, his main genres are short stories, drama, thrillers, childrens fiction, and horror.

He also works as a script doctor/editor on other people’s screenplays.

in 2025, he currently has two feature documentaries in development along with a number of screenplays. He has received development funding from Screen Ireland and an arts bursary to help develop this new work.
