Gavin Williams’ début feature as a screenwriter, AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, was a Critic’s Pick in the New York Times, enjoys an 81% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, and has gained a passionate cult following. It was available worldwide on Netflix then streamed on Shudder. In 2025 he sold his thriller series concept, HAVEN, to Sharp House. His science fiction feature, THE POISON FOREST, was optioned by Amazon Studios in 2021. His comedy-drama series, SYNCH ESTATE, received development funding from the BFI in 2020/21 via the Young Audience Content Fund. In 2017 Gavin established Feature Creep Films with Mark Lediard. Their short, THE MIME, was commissioned by Fox Digital Studios/ Disney, screened on both FX and FXX Channels in the U.S, and is now streaming on Hulu. They also co-directed the shorts, CHROMOPHOBIA, and BEHIND YOU, both of which screened at major genre film festivals including Sitges, Frightfest, and Screamfest. They also co-directed a highly-narrative music promo, RUNNING OUT OF LOVE, for indie rock group, Seafret. Gavin’s short, SLEEPWORKING, which he wrote and directed, won eight awards and played at sixty festivals. Gavin’s short film about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, CLICK/WHEEL, screened as part of DepicT! at the Encounters Film Festival 2020 where it received a Special Commendation in the DepicT! 2020 British Award. In 2022 Gavin was the Edit producer on comedy-horror anthology feature, Lore (starring Richard Brake and Rufus Hound), for Sea & Sky Pictures. In the past Gavin was been commissioned by HTV West for his comedy-drama, BAITED BREATH, about a wild young woman who finds unexpected peace in the world of fly fishing. BAITED BREATH screened on HTV West in 2002. He was commissioned by Carlton TV to write a 90’ pilot for his proposed comedy drama series, MAD FRANKIE WHEELER, as well as for the second season of Channel 5’s URBAN GOTHIC horror TV series. He was commissioned by Durham Gala Theatre for HEAVEN’S GOT TALENT, a musical version of the Fall of Lucifer staged as a TV talent show, a part of the theatre’s cycle of modernised mystery plays.
