Winner of ‘Best New Play’ at the UK Theatre Awards 2025 for debut play ‘Flumps’ a new dark comedy. This production was produced by and premiered at The Mercury Theatre, Essex in June 2025 and has future plans for a London transfer and tour in 2027 with the London-based co-production company The Thelmas.
Arts Council Funding: ‘The Curiosity Shop’ a new family musical has been funded by the Arts Council for its R&D in spring 2026. ‘Flumps’ was previously Arts Council Funded in Spring 2024.
Other credits include: Mercury Theatre Playwrights’ Cohort 2023, Menagerie Young Playwrights’ Cohort 2024, Mercury Creatives 2025, top 10% of BBC Writersroom 2024, shortlist ITV’s Unique Voices 2025 and longlist for RSC’s 37 Plays 2024.
Emma Jo has a First Class English with Creative Writing BA Degree from The University of Nottingham.
