About / Bio

I am from a copywriting and journalism background creating communications across all media including digital but particularly experienced writing corporate film scripts. I’ve also published short stories, film related articles (The Spread online) and joke books, receiving an award for my rugby journalism.

After winning several script awards and being optioned for my short and feature scripts, I started directing my own scripts. This has resulted in 19 shorts since 2010, including corporate films, two documentaries and a drama museum installation, plus I’ve script edited on other shorts. The dramas for Hurcheon Films have been screened at UK and international film festivals, garnering multiple awards.(https://hurchoenfilms.com)

I’ve developed one of my shorts into a one-woman theatre piece which was on a London fringe stage. This is now developed as a feature script. My play “The Waiting Room” was one of the 18 winners in the Stockwell Playhouse One Act Play Festival.

I’ve written two radio plays which have produced and are available on Towton Audio, with three more scripts commissioned and completed in 2024.  In recent years, I’ve taught on the M.A. Screenwriting at the London College of Communication (a course I did myself) as well as film making B.A. courses at Ravensbourne University and Farnham University of the Creative Arts.

Currently I’m moving towards production on my directorial feature debut (script and budget available), collaborating on a kids sitcom and a feature documentary, I am a member of the BAFTA Connect, Cinesisters, part of the ITV 50:50 comedy initiative, the Film London/UKTV Equal Access programme and inductee 157 in the World Rugby Hall of Fame.

I’m always interested in new challenges and collaborations.
