Fiona Georgiou Hunt

Australian-born, Fiona has been living in the UK since 2017 . Starting her career in professional theatre, working on large musicals Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, and Les Miserable she then moved into playwrighting, screenwriting, and script consultancy.

Her screenwriting work has won a string of awards and accolades including:

She also writes and directs theatre & film, including Doris Day, one of six plays about women and the criminal justice system in Jan 2022,  her short comedy film Dupont Takes The Biscuit in June 2022 and Cooking with Elvis November 2022.

Fiona is currently a host/producer on The Script Department’s Women In Screenwriting podcast and works with Screen Yorkshire.

A past non-executive director of Australian Theatre for Young People, and current Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Harrogate Theatre, Fiona holds an MA in Screenwriting (Distinction)and a Bachelor of Education in Drama Education.
