London based.

Born in Glasgow, raised in London, Sophie is from a family with a progressive deafness gene that can be traced back seven generations. She grew up hearing and went deaf from the age of 18. More recently she got a cochlear implant and has written on her experience in the Guardian, Daily Mail, Woman magazine and One in Seven magazine. Sophie works as both a writer and actor in TV, theatre and radio. TV credits include Bridgerton (Netflix) and Cast Offs (Channel 4).

Sophie’s early writing includes her legendary DJ Bird Diaries in Sleazenation magazine 1997-1998 and satirical writings in Shoreditch tw*t zine.

Training includes Soho Theatre Writers Attachment programme, Channel 4 screenwriting Course, BBC Writersroom Writers Access Group.

MEDUSA AND ME

AUGMENTED/ TOLD BY AN IDIOT/AUGMENTED PRODUCTIONS UK TOUR 2020

I wrote, performed, and co-produced the theatre tour, which toured to Royal Exchange Theatre, Birmingham Rep, Salisbury Playhouse, before being cut short by the Covid 19 pandemic. The play gained four and five reviews and the film of the play streamed at online festivals including GIFT Festival 2020 and Unlimited Southbank Centre festival 2021.
