About / Bio

Interested in writing television drama and thrillers; IP and original material

A Welsh writer, based in the North of England, I was a regular writer on DOCTORS for the four years up to the show ending and have had a spot as a guest writer on HOLLYOAKS. I’ve recently completed a writer’s residency at Theatr Clwyd and a BBC Commercial Drama Series course and am working on developing various television drama projects, along with a children’s animation project and a theatre script.

My play HALF RETURN ran at the Royal Court Upstairs and my monologue formed part of Philip Shelley’s podcast series.

I was shortlisted for the Edinburgh TV Festival’s best newcomer award for my first episode of DOCTORS.

I’ve made the shortlist for the Northern Writers Awards twice for their serial drama awards; my script, THREE MORE MINUTES was shortlisted by Screenwriting Goldmine and I have been considered by the BBC for a serial development scheme.

My pilot script, GUILTY was shortlisted for Edinburgh TV Festival’s The Debbies and my script, AND AT THE VERY END was longlisted for the Alfred Bradley radio award.

I’m a recent New Voices in Animation finalist and my children’s animation spec script was shortlisted for a BBC Children’s Writers Room competition.

I love all forms of television drama – continuing drama, short series, long series, international and homegrown. I use reality television and documentaries as palate cleansers and then dive back into more drama. I’d love to work as part of a team, get into more writers’ rooms and see at least one of my IP projects through to commission – and get some money in the bank!
