Joe White

Joe White is an award-winning writer from Birmingham. His most recent play BLACKOUT SONGS ('a dark, witty, indispensable drama' The Telegraph) had a sold-out run at the Hampstead Theatre’s Downstairs Studio in 2022, where it was nominated for an Olivier Award before receiving a transfer to the Hampstead’s mainstage earlier this year.

His previous play MAYFLY (‘A heartbreakingly funny debut... tender and wise... Something special' The Guardian) ran at the Orange Tree Theatre in 2018. Joe was nominated then for Best New Writer at the Stage Debut Awards and won Most Promising New Playwright at the OffWestEnd Awards.

His eight-part thriller THE NOX was released by Audible in 2022. Joe was a previous winner of the Channel 4 Playwriting Award, The Royal Literary Fund's JB Priestley Award for Writers of Promise, and was a member of the Old Vic 12, Orange Tree Writers Collective and BBC Drama Writers Programme. THE LITTLE BIG THINGS is his west-end debut.
