Tallulah Brown

I’m a published playwright, screenwriter and songwriter. I grew up by the the North Sea in Suffolk. My writing is always rooted to a strong sense of place. I’m drawn to characters living on the edges, the outskirts. I write scripts that are often poignant, sometimes profound and mostly funny.

‘A tender and memorable tale... so beautiful it takes your breath away.’ The Times on When the Birds Come

‘Songlines is a touching drama that’s wise about rural life and full of lewdness as it confronts the gnawing awkwardness of adolescence and clumsy beauty of teenage love.’ The Guardian on Songlines

I’ve written as part of Soho Theatre’s Young Company, Channel 4’s 4Screenwriting, the BBC TV Drama Programme and was featured on the BBC’s New Talent Hotlist. My script Leafy received five nominations for The Brit List. My plays are published by Bloomsbury.

I am currently under commission by the Writer’s Guild + HighTide, UK Theatre and the Independent Theatre Council to write BELDAM for the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.

I’m in the band TRILLS, winners of a Music and Sound Award for Best Original Composition for our song on the Suffragette film trailer. Our songs have featured on various TV trailers including: Outlander, The Chestnut Man and Mare of Easttown. We were nominated for a Golden Trailer Award for Netflix’s Wormwood.
