I started my career as a journalist working in radio and TV news before moving to documentaries, reality shows and then scripted television. As a creative with an invisible disability this shift was prompted by a desire to sit down more and run around less but I soon realised I’d found a home in drama. A few months before lockdown a life-threatening illness gave me the confidence to pursue what I’d always wanted to do, write. In 2022 I gained a place on RISE, a Channel 4/TripleC talent scheme. My first commission was CBBC’s Biff And Chip. I’ve written four episodes of Hollyoaks tackling hard hitting subjects such as misogyny and gay conversion therapy and two romantic comedy films for Reel One Entertainment. I also have an original thriller in development. I believe my writing career so far shows that I can slot well into existing shows and create original material and this balance is something I hope to continue going forward.
