Christine Murphy

Christine Murphy is a scriptwriter from Belfast. She has written for several long-running TV series, including Emmerdale, Doctors and Eastenders and is currently writing for the Britbox/BBC TV series Hope Street.

Her debut feature film Cup Cake premiered at and won the Audience Award at the Belfast Film Festival in 2010. In 2013, she won the Irish Writers’ Guild Zebbie Award for her BBC Radio 4 drama Kicking the Air starring Vicky McClure.

She is an alumnus of the prestigious eQuinoxe Europe feature script development programme, MediaXchange's Series Accelerator programme and David Puttnam's Creative Producing Masterclass. She was a WFTV mentee in 2022 and was mentored by Sharon Horgan.
