Carmen Askerneese

Carmen got his start as the Executive Producer, Creator, and Host of a YouTube game review series, Heads Up Display. After working on the series he co-founded a start-up, Develo, a platform for creatives to create a digital portfolio. Develo placed 65th in the National competition Student Startup Madness.

Carmen attended UCF's Masters' program at FIEA, Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, the number one ranked school in the world by the Princeton Review. He served as the Writer and Project Lead for his thesis project, Child No More.

Upon graduation, Carmen worked as the Lead Producer, Writer, and Performance Capture Actor for a virtual reality escape room called iMyth before transferring to EA Sports. At EA he worked as an Associate Game Designer and Writer on both Madden NFL Mobile and NBA Live Mobile.

Carmen later moved to EA Austin and worked as a Narrative Designer/Writer on The Simpsons Tapped Out. He also established a chapter of the employee resource group BEAT (Black EA Team) and was elected the Local Chairman for the Austin chapter. Carmen was promoted to Lead Designer/Lead Writer where he led a writing team and collaborated with other discipline leads, the licensor and writers of the Simpsons TV series Gracie Films, and support teams within EA.

Carmen recently became a Producer at Wizards of the Coast on Magic the Gathering. When he's not writing games, Carmen writes, produces, and is the Dungeon Master for a tabletop actual play show called Realms & Roleplay.
