Working as a freelance writer since 2010, I have worked on small and large scale productions including short monologues and full length musicals. I have written around various topics including mental health, suicide, LGBT+ communities, sexual misconduct and the topic of consent, working in a contemporary and postdramatic style. I am particularly interested in writing character driven pieces, set in confined, claustrophobic settings, pushing characters to their limits, usually with dark undertones and using reference to past incidents. I have a passion for writing, story telling and unexpected narratives, particularly involving characters who are marginalised or overlooked.
As a performer, I have worked with local agencies and independent theatre companies alongside my own, performing in rural theatres, schools and universities.
Alongside a writing and performance career, I have also been working as a drama teacher, both within the secondary education sector and privately.
I am also currently conducting research for my PhD thesis, investigating realist interpretations of physical acts of intimacy performed on stage.
