Lisa Holdsworth

Lisa won her first TV commission in 2001 on FAT FRIENDS. She was shortlisted for a Best New Writer BAFTA for her episode. She then joined the EMMERDALE writing team for three years before heading off to write for NEW TRICKS, winning the RTS Yorkshire Best Writer award for one of her episodes. Since then she has written for WATERLOO ROAD, ROBIN HOOD and MIDSOMER MURDERS.

In the theatre, he is also the co-producer of SLUNG LOW SHORTS an annual week of theatre showcasing new short plays by TV writers directed and performed by emerging talent in West Yorkshire. She has also written four plays for the Manchester theatre show that inspired SL Shorts, the hugely successful JB SHORTS. Some of those shorts plays have been performed by Bite Size Theatre Company in London, Brighton and on the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2015, she wrote a play with music to celebrate the Rugby World Cup. RUGBY SONGS was produced by Slung Low Theatre Company and DepArts and toured Rugby Union Clubs throughout Yorkshire.
