I have 20 years experience of writing for children and young adults across all media – TV scripts, apps, games and books – for CBBC, Cbeebies, Disney XD, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Penguin, LEGO and many others. I love writing for animation and live action comedy, from preschool to teen.
Having steered the series through the development process, I am currently Head Writing a new animated show for American Greetings – to be broadcast on CBeebies in the UK in 2019. In 2017 I was nominated for an Annie award for my work on Puffin Rock – narrated by Chris O'Dowd and winner of Best New Preschool Series and Best Animated Preschool Series at Kidscreen 2016.
Last year I wrote 6 original YouTube shorts introducing the United Nations Sustainable Development goals to a young audience through Thomas the Tank Engine – and I recently started writing on the TV show for my sixth consecutive season having now written more than 30 episodes.
I bring the benefit of my screenwriting experience to work as a Development Producer and Creative Consultant. I have worked with numerous individuals, independents and broadcasters – including Oscar nominated animation studio Cartoon Saloon, Sixteen South, Chapman Entertainment, Soho Square Studios, Sprout and CBeebies – to help bring their ideas to the screen. I wrote pilot scripts for two shows that were presented at Cartoon Forum in September 2014, two more that were taken to MIP Junior in 2015, and I am currently working with Zodiak Kids on another new show in development.
For fun, I go and see bands, take improvisation classes and write short stories.
