Hello Colleagues. If I could just have quiet for a few moments. May I say how nice it is to see you all back in the staffroom ready to face another term. Lots of sunburn. I see. Spending on education may have fallen, but I’m reassured to see that you can all keep the cross-channel ferries chugging happily on. I hope you’re all suitably refreshed. Looking around you, you will, I’m sure, notice lots of new faces, and to those of you in particular I would like to say Welcome. I won’t give a sermon. Classrooms are more eloquent than I can ever be. But let me simply say, if you need help ask for it. Scream for it if necessary. SHE LAUGHS Remember, this school has a head, moi, AND a heart. I am at your disposal.
