Joanne Lau is a Canadian-British-Chinese writer with projects across TV, theatre, radio, and film. She is an alumna of the BBC Writersroom Comedy Room, EAST on Screen: ITV Writers Room, Canneseries Writers Club, New Earth Professional Writers Programme, Sphinx 30 Theatre Programme, and BBC New Talent Hotlist. She’s also been a finalist for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum for TV Drama, Royal Court Theatre/Kudos Writing Fellowship, Cinequest Teleplay 60, Canneseries/MipTV In Development, Sitcom Mission, and Funny Women Comedy Writing Awards. Prior to writing full-time, Joanne was an award-winning comedian and rather mediocre neuroscientist.
