The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) represents professional writers in TV, film, theatre, audio, books, comedy, poetry, animation and videogames.

As a union member, you are part of a thriving, campaigning and growing community working to achieve better pay and working conditions for writers. If you are interested in getting more involved - as an activist, a representative, a negotiator or in another capacity – we want to hear from you.

Campaign groups

WGGB campaign groups are cross-craft groups of members who inform WGGB policy positions on specific areas of interest. Campaign groups may also help to steer the Craft, National and Regional committees on activist work. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions about campaign groups.

Committees

Led by elected representatives, the committees represent the interests of writers working in either specific craft areas or specific region. The committees are responsible for debating, deciding and implementing WGGB policy, designing resources for members and steering our programme of events. Negotiating teams

Negotiating teams are fundamental to the union's work in securing fair pay and equitable deal terms for writers. Working with Craft and National committees and Head Office, the negotiating teams work with industry bodies on updating and future-proofing our industry agreements.

Please note that only Full members can be on negotiating teams.
