WGGB’s theatre negotiators have agreed a 2% rise on minimum fees under the union’s TNC agreement (covering the Royal Court, National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company).
The rise is effective from 1 April 2022 and means the minimum rate for a full-length play rises from £12,997 to £13,257 (except for the Royal Court Upstairs, which rises from £10,172 to £10,374).
WGGB General Secretary Ellie Peers said: “I am delighted that our WGGB negotiators have managed to secure this increase for writers. Our national agreements in theatre mean that playwrights working for these three major theatres – as well as those working under our ITC and UK Theatre agreements – benefit from regular uplifts in minimum fees.”
