AD Cooper

“People trust you as a writer if you’re a member of WGGB – it’s a reassurance. Also the Guild is constantly on the case promoting good rates, finding great opportunities and spreading the word about their members.”

AD Cooper comes from a copywriting background, where she creates ideas and copy for all kinds of media. She writes a lot of corporate film scripts, plus reviews and articles for The Spread (an online film-makers magazine), but she has also published articles on many subjects, short stories and two joke books. Bored of waiting for someone to make her film scripts, she started directing shorts in 2010 and has now completed nine, including a couple of corporate films and a documentary. The drama shorts for Hurcheon Films have all been selected by international film festivals, with 15 award nominations. In February 2016, she presented a 75-minute theatre piece as a writing showcase in the form of a one-woman show about Dorothy Lawrence, the only woman to serve with the British Army in World War 1.
