WGGB goes to the beach

Top authors, screenwriters, agents and directors will be sharing their writing and publishing secrets at the first Write by the Beach conference, on 12 March 2016, in Hove, East Sussex.

The one-day event – organised by the Beach Hut Writing Academy – takes place at Angel House, a restored Regency building on the seafront between Brighton and Hove.

“Our theme is: from inspiration to publication,” says one of the conference organisers, Sue Teddern. “We’re writers talking to writers, at all levels. So we think the day will be fun, informative and a great networking opportunity.”

WGGB is sponsoring the panel session: Getting into print: the best ways to become a bestseller in 2016.

Other sessions include creating characters on page and screen, the art and craft of short story writing, working with an agent, finding your crime voice and making a living from writing. There are also one-to-ones with story mentors and the chance to pitch to an agent (limited places). Refreshments and a networking buffet lunch are included.

The event is open to writers of all levels of experience. The cost is £120 and WGGB members are eligible for the discounted rate of £80.

Information (including bookings, directions and a full conference schedule) can be found on the Beach Hut Writing Academy’s website.
