Stefania Rotariu

When did you first realise you wanted to write for a living?

When I published my first book of poems, I understood that I would write all my life.

Which writer, past or present, do you most admire?

George Gordon Byron (1788-1824), who was one of the great English poets, very romantic and a participant in the Romantic movement of those times.

Also, a great Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889), a patriot with a wide vision that fits on any era of human existence. Mihai Eminescu is a model for me, ever since I started writing my first poem and until now.

What was your first published (or performed) credit as a writer?

My first book (Poezii pentru inima ta Vol I – Poems for your heart Vol I) was published in the Romanian language in the summer of 2012, by Trafford Publishing (America).

Which piece of writing work are you most proud of?

For me, all five volumes of poems (Poezii pentru inima ta – Poems for your heart) represent my wealth.

Who or what inspires you to write?

The Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889), is one of the poets which I studied in Romanian language classes and because his poems were of a sensitivity that has conquered many hearts, I fell in love with his poems from the very first poem read.

How do you switch off when you’re not writing?

I usually write all the time, at night when I can’t sleep, during the day when the time permits and often, I write wherever I am, when the inspiration arises.

Which one piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

They should never stop writing and even if it seems to them that their work is not great, they should ask the advice of those who have experience, to help them fulfill their dream.

Why are you a member of WGGB?

I am a member of this organisation because I believe that any tree that grows in a land should have the roots in that land.
