When did you first realise you wanted to write for a living?

When I was in high school.

Which writer, past or present, do you most admire?

Jonathan Franzen.

What was your first published (or performed) credit as a writer?

My first book.

Which piece of writing work are you most proud of?

The poem To be like the bird in flight.

Who or what inspires you to write?

People, nature, happenings, the Earth’s creatures.

How do you switch off when you’re not writing?

When it is not possible to write, I memorise to continue.

Which one piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Any idea that comes to write it, not to let go, then to develop it.

Why are you a member of WGGB?

Because any writer must belong to a group of writers.

Ştefania Rotariu is a writer, graphic designer and network engineer who originates from Romania and has lived in London since 2011. In 2012, she published her first book Poems for Your Heart, followed by two further volumes in 2014. She has participated in the International Festival of Poetry and Epigraphy in Romania and in an anthology of Romanian poets, as well as winning an award for her poetry. She collaborated with guitarists and singers, writing lyrics for the music (see some examples here). She has currently finished her fourth volume of Poems for Your Heart, which will be published in autumn 2018. Find out more about Stefania on her Facebook page.
