“I joined the Guild when, as a new writer without an agent, I received my first professional contract and needed someone with experience to look at it for me. Since then, as my career has progressed, the Guild has always been in my corner. As writers we can be somewhat isolated, and sometimes it’s easy to feel alone, especially if you live outside the epicentre of London and the South East. Membership of the WGGB gave me access to a community of writers and has helped me strike up friendships and working relationships that I would not have had otherwise. As Merseyside Rep, I look forward to bringing together writers in the Liverpool area and beyond, and to act as a point of contact for local Guild members to offer advice and support.”
