Danny Stack

Danny is a prolific writer/director in the kids/family genre, and is experienced across many genres and formats. His children TV credits include the global favourites Hey DuggeePJ MasksTransformersOctonauts and Thunderbirds Are Go. He was head writer for Flix (an animated comedy series based on the books by Tomi Ungerer), and lead writer for Holt (an ambitious sci-fi animation series), both for RTE. As a director, he works closely with Tim Clague. Under their Nelson Nutmeg Pictures banner they have directed two live-action family films (the comedy caper Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg? and the sci-fi adventure Future TX) as well as their own TV series (Dog Years). They’ve directed three romcom films for Reel One Entertainment including To England With Love and A Very English Christmas, which premiered on Channel 5 and Paramount+ in 2023.

Danny’s drama writing credits include EastEnders and Doctors, and he has also written for computer games including Colin McRae: Dirt and Score! Hero. In 2007, Danny set up the Red Planet Prize with writer/producer Tony Jordan, and is regularly involved in mentoring schemes for new writers. He started his career in the Channel 4 Comedy department, and went on to become a highly regarded industry script reader for the likes of Working Title, Pathe, Miramax, BFI, Irish Film Board, amongst others.
