Conway McDermott
I’m a trans writer, originally from Liverpool currently based in Yorkshire, with a love of soap, sci-fi, theatre, and ambitious storytelling. My big passion is taking grounded characters with contemporary problems, and exploring them through high concept stories that fuzz the edges of genre. I also love working collaboratively, and believe in having pride in your work, while leaving your ego at the door.
I'm currently writing on EastEnders, as well as developing original television and stage projects with Screen Yorkshire, Box of Tricks Theatre Company, and Kyrianacos and Co.
I also run Blood Beats - an LGBTQ+ writers group based in Manchester - as part of the Box of Tricks Playmakers Network.
I'm always happy to share any knowledge I've got, or to chat with other creatives, directors, and producers about potential future projects!
