Roanne Bardsley is an award-winning television drama writer from Lampeter in West Wales. Before becoming a freelance writer, Roanne spent three and a half years as a storyliner for HOLLYOAKS. Roanne is now a member of the soap's core writing team, and has written more than fifty episodes to date. In 2018, Roanne's Hollyoaks episode 'Three Mothers, Three Daughters' won Best Single Episode at the British Soap Awards, and was also one of four episodes that secured Hollyoaks a BAFTA nomination in the Best Continuing Drama category. Outside of Hollyoaks, Roanne has several original television drama ideas in development with production companies such as Lime Pictures and Carnival Films, as well as a commission from BBC Northern Ireland for the hour-long broadcast pilot LIVING WITH THE DEMPSEYS, which she co-created with Ewen Glass. Roanne is also writing an episode of Emmy award-winning Netflix children's drama FREE REIN. In 2015, Roanne was chosen as a delegate of the Edinburgh International Television Festival's 'Ones to Watch' talent scheme, and in 2016 she was selected as a Broadcast Hotshot.
