Sam trained at Dartington College of Arts, Trinity College Dublin, the NT and the RSC. As a director she has worked at Hampstead Theatre, the RSC, NT and Glyndebourne Opera. She is currently the Literary Associate at Headlong.
She received a Most Promising New Playwright Offie nomination for her debut play, Mucky Kid, which opened at Theatre 503 in 2013.
Sam is currently Papatango's Resident Playwright, supported by the BBC Performing Arts Fund. She is also delighted to have been awarded a place on the Channel 4 Playwrights' Scheme and the Tricycle’s NW6 project.

Sam's debut play, MUCKY KID, for which she received a Most Promising New Playwright Offie nomination, opened at Theatre 503 in November 2013. Prior to writing, Sam worked extensively as a director, training at the RSC and NT. She was the Literary Manager at Out of Joint from 2011-2013.
