Miranda Emmerson

Born in Warwickshire and raised in London, I read English at Oxford and Playwriting Studies at Birmingham. I worked fairly regularly abridging, adapting and writing original drama for BBC Radio 4 from 2000 until 2014 - mostly as Miranda Davies. I have published one travel memoir (Fragrant Heart); two novels with Fourth Estate (Miss Treadway & the Field of Stars and A Little London Scandal) and select poetry. I have a PhD from Cardiff University examining the way in which BBC Radio drama adaptations have created narratives of national and regional identity inside the UK. I have experience teaching creative writing and literature at levels ranging from KS2 to MA.
