Edinburgh Fringe

WGGB at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015

The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain continues its presence at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which runs from 7-31 August 2015.

The world’s largest arts festival, established in 1947 as an alternative to the Edinburgh International Festival, showcases a wide range of performing arts, and includes cabaret, children’s shows, comedy, dance, physical theatre and circus, events, exhibitions, music, musicals and opera, spoken word and theatre.

In addition, events along the Royal Mile during the Festival represent the largest street fair of its kind in the world.

Entry to the Fringe does not involve a selection committee, and so it often showcases experimental works that wouldn’t make it into other festivals.

WGGB appears in the Fringe programme once again, and the Scottish branch is holding a seminar on the work of the union on 11 August 2015. This takes place at 11am at Fringe Central 1, Appleton Tower, Crichton Street, EH8 9LE, and you can find out more details and book online.

The Scottish branch also has a stand at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Participants Fair, 11am-5pm on 24 August, also at Fringe Central 1. This will be the fourth year running we’ve had a stand at the fair.

You can find out full details of the festival on the official Fringe website.
