anti-austerity march

WGGB at TUC anti-austerity march

The TUC is organising a national demonstration in Manchester this Sunday (4 October 2015) against the Government’s austerity agenda, which includes attacks on the BBC and the continual depletion of arts funding, plus attacks on trade unions. It will begin with a march through central Manchester, culminating in a rally close to the Conservative Party Conference.

UNISON Hartlepool LG, on behalf of UNISON Tees Valley branches, is organising coaches to the march and rally. All colleagues in the trade union and labour movement are welcome.

Coaches will be leaving Hartlepool at 7.30am, picking up in Middlesbrough (7.45am), Stockton (8am) and Darlington (8.15am), with the return from Manchester at 5pm. Cost per seat will be £5 (subsidised by UNISON Northern Region).

To book seats, please contact Edwin Jeffries (01429 523868/07813 073186).

The Federation of Entertainment unions has organised two coaches to go up from London to the demo, leaving St Pancras at 7.15am. If members want a space on the coach, please contact WGGB Assistant General Secretary Ellie Peers.

Regional representatives Lisa Holdsworth (Yorkshire & North East) and Grant Foxton (Manchester & Lancashire) will be organising WGGB attendance locally, so please contact them via our website if you want to attend and meet up with other WGGB members.
