WGGB AGM 2018

Save the date for our online AGM

If you are a WGGB member then you are invited to our Annual General Meeting, which takes place online on Tuesday 29 June 2021 from 10.30am (virtual doors open at 10am).

Our AGM is the highpoint of our year, as it allows members to vote on and steer the policy of their union, to find out what our elected Craft, National and Regional Reps and Officers have been up to, and what our plans are for the future in fighting for better rights for writers.

Last year, our first online AGM, we were delighted to welcome a record amount of members and we hope to see even more of you this year.

We are looking forward to hearing from the following guest speakers this year:

Tamara Harvey – Artistic Director of Theatr Clwyd (pictured left)
Harvey’s Theatr Clwyd productions include Laura Wade’s Home, I’m DarlingPeter Gill’s adaptation of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya and Elinor Cook’s Pilgrims. In June 2021 she was quoted in The Stage as saying “… whatever happens, we will make theatre. Because now more than ever, our audiences and our artists need us to bring everyone together to laugh and cry, and celebrate our shared humanity. It’s time.”

She will be discussing regional theatre, the challenges through the pandemic and future plans.

Antony JohnstonAntony Johnston (pictured left) – writer (genres include videogames and graphic novels)

Johnston is a New York Times bestselling writer. The Charlize Theron movie Atomic Blonde is based on his graphic novel The Coldest City; his Brigitte Sharp thrillers are critically acclaimed; while Dead Space, his first videogame, redefined its genre.

He will be discussing the writer’s changing role in the videogames industry.
