Mim Omari
Mim Omari is a screenwriter, playwright and story consultant. She earned a coveted spot on The List HOT 100, lauded for her productions described as "political, sensitive, and compelling," fearlessly confronting societal taboos. Her play,' If I Had A Girl...', sold-out its showcase in 2016, and toured nationally in 2017. She was one of the National Theatre of Scotland’s Starter for 10, selected for her critically acclaimed play, 'One Mississippi’, which had sell-out tours in 2017 and 2022. Mim co-founded and was Artistic Director of Bijli Productions, Company in Residence, National Theatre of Scotland, in 2018, and was selected for the BBC Writers Room Scottish Voices 2019. In 2021 she was commissioned by BBC Scotland to create ‘Breaking Point’, a series of short films for BBC platforms. In 2022 she was part of the Independent Film Trust/Sony Pictures Creative Corridor, and was a finalist for the Quiet Man Dave Prize and Coverfly WE SCREENPLAY Diverse Voices. In 2023 she was selected for the Young Films Foundation, the inaugural Kay Mellor Screenwriters Lab, and The UK & Europe Writers Lab. She is currently developing her first feature for BBC Film and is represented by Lit. Entertainment Group.
