Mata Haggis

Dr. Mata Haggis is a narrative designer, writer, and game designer with over 15 years of experience in the video game and media industries. He has worked on both AAA and indie titles, in full production and as a consultant to dozens of teams.

He was nominated by the Writers' Guild for the Best Writing in a Video Game in 2016, and is a highly rated public speaker at conferences such as GDC, Lyst, and the Central European Games Conference, as well as giving inspirational talks and workshops/training for games and non-games industry groups.

Dr. Haggis is Professor of Creative and Entertainment Games at NHTV University in the Netherlands, one of the most highly rated games academies in the world.

He works primarily in the UK and the Netherlands, and travels regularly to meet new people and companies, particularly to San Francisco and Los Angeles.
