With narrative-driven and narrative-heavy videogames getting 9/10 and 10/10 reviews, has the era of story in games arrived, or is plot still “gameplay’s bitch”?
A panel of experienced games writers will be sharing the tricks, traps and travails of making stories work in games, at WGGB’s annual videogames event, in association with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).
Playing the Story – how to marry gameplay with narrative without divorcing the player, takes place from 7pm on Wednesday 9 December 2015 at the Keyworth Centre, London South Bank University, London SE1 6NG.
The event is free and open to WGGB members and non-members. Speakers are James (Deus Ex) Swallow, Rhianna (Tomb Raider) Pratchett, Andrew (Fable Legends) Walsh, Tom (Subnautica) Jubert, and Ed (Brink) Stern.
After the event we’ll be heading over to the pub for further chat and networking,
